<실천하는 테라조>
이번에 소개할 프로젝트는 북촌에 위치한 한아조라는 브랜드의 매장입니다. 한아조는 “Pause your life”라는 모토 아래 모두의 하루하루가 온전하게 지내지기를 바라며 정성스럽게 지속가능한 물건들을 만다는 브랜드 입니다. 이러한 한아조의 북촌 매장은 샵이면서, 비누 생산을 하는 공장이면서, 창의적으로 실험적인 한아조의 랩실이기도 합니다. 꾸밈없고 과장 없는 공간을 만들면서 랩실처럼 실험을 지속하는 브랜드의 정체성을 어떻게 보여줄까 고민하다가 큰 영감을 준은 것은 테라조 비누 입니다. 상품을 위해 잘라낸 자투리 비누들을 모아서 새로운 비누로 재탄생시키게 된 테라조 비누처럼 자연석의 버려진 자투리로 한아조만의 바닥을 만들게 되었습니다. 작은 매장이지만 지역적 특성을 고려하여서 전통적인 고재 기둥이나 주춧돌, 랩실의 금속의 기능적이고 합리적인 가구, 그리고 지역의 오래된 벽면을 주요한 디자인적 언어로 사용하였습니다.
<Terrazzo Philosophy>
This project is a store for a brand called Hanajo located in Bukchon. Under the motto “Pause your life,” Hanajo is a brand that carefully manufactures sustainable products in the hope that everyone can live a healthy life every day. Hanajo's Bukchon store is also a shop, a soap production factory, and Hanajo's creatively experimental lab. While thinking about how to create an unadorned and unexaggerated space and show the identity of a brand that continues to experiment like a lab room, the thing that gave me great inspiration was terrazzo soap. Like terrazzo soap, which was reborn as a new soap by collecting scrap soap that had been cut for commercial purposes, Hanajo's unique floor was made from discarded scraps of natural stone. Although it is a small store, considering the regional characteristics, we used traditional old wooden pillars and cornerstones, functional and reasonable metal furniture in the lab room, and old local walls as the main design language.
